What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the ability to focus our attention in the here-and-now, purposefully and without judgement or expectation. Our deep conditioning often means we are habitually lost in thought. This often results in a sense of disconnection from our feelings and our bodies and what is happening directly in front of us. Mindfulness practice is a simple way to begin to reconnect with our inner resources.

 
What is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction?

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an integrative, participant-centered approach to stress management developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. To date it is the longest standing, most successful and well-researched stress reduction programme worldwide.

This unique 8-week programme offers intensive training in mindfulness-based techniques for people experiencing stress related problems, chronic illness and chronic pain, as well as those simply wanting to learn how to live more mindfully.

By combining centuries-old traditions and new medical science, MBSR teaches tools which draw on our deepest resources and wisdom to increase skillful action and reduce reactivity while bringing greater clarity, focus and ease to dealing with life's challenges. Through learning these powerful methods, we are able to reduce stress and to participate actively in our own healing.

The MBSR Programme is an effective complement to standard medical and psychological treatments.

 
We live in stressful, turbulent times. The pace of life is accelerating exponentially; uncertainty, endless change, and countless demands are the norm. These everyday challenges can and often do adversely affect our health and well-being. In the face of this it is critically important to realize we have the strength, stability and resilience within us for effectively meeting these challenges. Mindfulness is a way for you to access these inner resources
